All About Tea
Fruit Teas
Fruit teas generally have a dried apple and/or pear base that the other fruits and flavourings are added to arrive at the desired mix for flavour, colour, aroma and degree of sweet and sour.
A true fruit tea has no caffeine in it and as such is a great alternative to hot beverages that do contain caffeine. The natural sweetness in fruit means that more often than not sugar is not required which keeps the calorie count down. Of course if you like your fruit tea sweet then sugar or honey can be added to your required taste.
Loose fruit teas tend to require longer to infuse than black teas as the dried pieces of fruit are quite large and dense so the hot water has to work harder to release the aroma, colour and flavour. Often the aroma comes in the first couple of minutes and the colour slightly after with the full taste sometimes taking as long as 5-10 minutes to be drawn out.
Our fruit teas are all suitable for making iced tea for the Summer served with the tinkle of ice cubes. I have even known the Basket of Berries to be used to make cakes!
To enjoy the colour serving in a tall glass can enhance the experience of drinking fruit tea.
Cotswold Tea's range of fruit loose teas all come in a red bag with a gold clip to seal the bag that can be reused a number of times to keep the tea fresh.
Currently the Just Fruit infusion range includes the following
Basket of Berries, Apple Dream, Lemon, Blackcurrant, Tropical, Turkish Apple and newly added to the range Strawberry and Kiwi.

Dear Customers
I am off on annual leave for a couple of weeks so the online shops are shut and will reopen on Friday 17th September. The office will reopen on Tuesday 21st September so this will be the first day that tea orders will be despatched.Hopefully all my regular customers have stocked up but if you are new to the site I am afraid all you can do is window shop and have a good read!
Now where is that suitcase and sun screen???? Oh and of course must take some of my own tea!!!
More news in the autumn.
Regards
Kay Healey
